Altis Glass

Glass processing on 15,000 m² of indoor floor space with semi- and fully automated European technology.

Glass is the main component of a window and needs an individual approach: the window colour, profile depth, dimensions and the environmental exposure of the building (wind, sun, rain) must all be taken into account. The glass and ancillary materials we process are certified imported products that meet all applicable standards.

Our processing range

  • Single-pane glass processing
  • Double- and triple-glazed insulated glass units
  • Tempered glass and tempered insulated glass units
  • Laminated (multi-layer safety) glass
  • Structural insulated glass units (silicone-sealed and structurally bonded)
  • Decorative and CNC-cut glass (sandblasted, frosted, vinyl, glass doors)

Processing stages

Glass cutting

01

Glass cutting

Cutting is an essential stage of all processing, as it produces the required dimensions. We cut on a fully automatic HEGLA machine made in Germany, with fully automated glass loading and cutting. Thanks to European equipment, our cutting error rate is just 0.001%.

Maximum cutting size
6000 × 3300mm
Cutting thickness
3–19mm
Error rate

Glass washing

02

Glass washing

Glass stands for transparency and cleanliness, so washing follows cutting. We use state-of-the-art European equipment, and the wash water is filtered through reverse osmosis systems for spotless results.

Insulated glass units

03

Insulated glass units

An insulated glass unit conducts 2.2 times less heat than ordinary glass, and new energy-saving glass types can improve this 4–5 times. Units are assembled on OPTIMAC (Italy) and BESTMAKINA (Turkey) lines and filled with argon gas using BOVONE (Italy) equipment.

The company has 2 insulated glass unit lines. Argon gas filling significantly reduces the heat and sound transmission of the glass. The units are sealed so that air leakage between the two panes over time does not cause fogging and condensation.

Two sealing methods are used: silicone and polyurethane.

Tempering and bending

04

Tempering and bending

Tempered glass is more resistant to impact and temperature changes, and breaks into very small, harmless fragments. Tempering is carried out on NORTH GLASS equipment. Bending dimensions depend on the radius and the project. Official certificates from European manufacturers of sensitive special-purpose glass set us apart in Azerbaijan.

Glass bent to a 6 mm radius can also be tempered.

Edge grinding and polishing

05

Edge grinding and polishing

The sharp edges of cut glass are ground and polished with special diamond and cerium wheels — the most advanced method in international practice, for a clean appearance and safe handling. Our plant has the most modern and fastest edge grinding and polishing equipment in the country.

Structural bonding of insulated glass units

06

Structural bonding of insulated glass units

Silicone-sealed insulated glass units are bonded to aluminium frames (cassettes) with structural silicone, so only glass is visible on the building facade. This method minimises the risk of distortion on the facade.

In bonding, the outer and inner panes are of different sizes. A spacer tape is bonded with special adhesive to all four edges of the aluminium frame, and special silicone is pressed in from the side to join the glass and aluminium; the panes are cured horizontally or vertically and are then ready for facade work.

Build-up of the assembly

  • Stepped insulated glass unit
  • Spacer with desiccant
  • Polyisobutylene primary sealant
  • Structural silicone
  • Double-sided adhesive tape
  • Silicone weather seal
Lamination

07

Lamination

Two or more panes are bonded with a special PVB (polyvinyl butyral) interlayer to produce multi-layer glass. It is used in balustrades, glass floors, roofs and high-rise facades; if broken, the fragments stay in place. We have been producing laminated glass since 2016.

This method is used to make multi-layer impact-resistant glass for bank cash desks and armoured vehicles, and even bulletproof glass. One of our next steps is the production of bulletproof glass — we have already started research in this direction.

  • Glass fragments do not fall when broken
  • Provides sound insulation
  • Hinders penetration even when broken

CNC cutting

08

CNC cutting

Glass doors for offices and shops and shaped glass are processed on CNC and NC equipment, which requires architectural and practical expertise. We have 10 years of experience in CNC cutting.

Decoration and sandblasting

09

Decoration and sandblasting

Decorative processing is carried out on INTERMAC-GENIUS equipment made in Italy, allowing text, emblems and logos to be applied to glass. Custom shapes and patterns are created with vinyl cutting and TEMPEST sandblasting equipment. We also offer bevelling, edge grinding and polishing, pattern printing, grooving, drilling and painting.
